Your Past Self Doesn’t Need to Define Your Present Self

You can change for the better.

The other day, I was talking to a friend of mine whose dealt with addiction issues.

The thing that he’s struggling with — from an identity perspective now that he’s doing better — is how much of that time period defines him today?

Just because at one time in life, you were one way, doesn’t mean you’ll always be that person.

You can change for the better.

It’ll always be a part of your story, your journey.

That part of your life/identity, that version of you can be over if you allow it to be over.
