What’s the appropriate amount of time dating before you ask someone to get married?
Everyone’s process is different.
The other day, I was talking to a friend of mine and he asked me, what’s the appropriate number of years of being in a relationship before asking someone to marry you (for context, he’s currently been dating someone for 2 years).
There’s no one size fits all life advice for the right amount of time that everyone should follow.
For some people, they get married after 3 years, 4 years, 10 years. Some take less time, maybe 1 year.
For my friend and people in situations like him, it’s not about how long you should wait and what society recommends, it’s about you and your significant other and your relationship, and when you feel like it’s the right time for you guys.
Forget about society and what society “recommends”.
Go at your own pace. Go with what works for you.
That’s the appropriate amount of time before you should ask her to marry you.
