The American Dream is still alive in 2020

Regardless of political affiliation, I hope we can all appreciate that yesterday something happened in the US’s 244 years of existence that’s never happened before.

The first female, the first black, the first descendant of South Asia in the US’s history was elected Vice President, Kamala Harris.

Additionally, she is a child of immigrants.

As a brown person who is the son of two immigrants from India who came to America to seek a better, this was a really cool moment for me.

Whether or not you personally fall into one of those categories that she represents, I hope you appreciate the beauty that the American dream holds true even in our modern day.

That her parents could come to America in search of a better life for their children, and for one of their children to just become Vice President of the United States is quite amazing.

Additionally, on the Presidential side, Joe Biden will be the oldest president elect in January 2021 at the age of 78. He had previously run in 1988, 2008 and for a third time in 2020. For anyone who has underperformed or lost the first time or second time in something, use Joe Biden as hope that persistence pays off and that you’re never too old to go after your dreams.
