Texting is not the right medium for solving emotional arguments.

I understand how ingrained texting is within our culture, however, arguing/fighting/trying to resolve an issue should not be done over text.

Texting doesn’t allow you to see the person’s facial expression and body language, which are critical for lengthy and important conversations. Text also makes people act tougher and say things they otherwise wouldn’t because they’re able to hide behind a screen.

If you’re trying to resolve an argument, do it in person or at the very least on a video chat platform like Zoom or FaceTime so both of you can see each other and express how you’re feeling by seeing each other.

Resolving issues is an aspect of being in a long-term relationship. It’s not always fun but it’s an important skill to develop.
