If you want to be consistent at something, you you can’t always listen to your mind.
For example, let’s say you want to be incorporate exercise more into your weekly schedule.
Chances are your mind will not always want to work out.
Chances are your mind will often say, eh, let’s just stay in bed, relax and watch Netflix. Or who has the energy to travel to the gym right now?
That’s where you have to separate your thoughts from your desires.
If your desire is to be consistent with exercise, you have to train your mind to ignore the lazier thoughts and stay true to your desires.
It’s not always easy, but the more you practice training your mind, the better you will be at staying true to your desires and values.
