How To Build Better Body Image

This is not a topic I’m an expert but I think it’s one that not enough people to talk about. I’m just gonna speak from my personal experience.

Which is I used to be 180 pounds and now I’m closer to 160. I’m a lot more thin. If you want to see what I used to look like my Instagram is public, you can go down and see i had fuller cheeks and was bigger.

1. All of us have different metabolisms.

Right so? I have a friend that eats a lot of fast food, a lot of meat, and he’s thin as a stick. If I had that diet, I’d probably get close to 180. I’m like 160 right now. First understand that’s a part of all this.

2. Control what you control

And that means looking at your diet.

What we put into our bodies is important. Our bodies are science in action.

When you eat a lot of candy and you’re hyper, that’s science.

What I would say is, eating unhealthy foods — fried foods, processed foods, a lot of it is probably not the best thing. food is going to have an effect on your body.

When you’re younger, it shows less. But as we grow older, it does impact our bodies.

3. I’ve gone mostly vegan

There’s a multiple reasons for that. I saw the documentary What the Health on Netflix, I saw the beginning of Dominion and the brutal care of animals.

And also just realized, like animals are human beings.

And one of the misconceptions people have is that meat provides protein that plants don’t. If you think that’s true, how do cows become such big animals through just eating grass?

I’m not a scientist and I’m not going to act like I am, but I think it’s important that people know my take.

So these are all from the eating stand point I guess I’ll.

4. Exercise

Physical exercise is an important aspect of your health.

Metabolism stuff — you know depending on your metabolism, you might have to do more.

What one of my friends can maintain with 3 mile runs a week, I might have to 5 mile runs a week.

The next part is more from the mental health lens.

1. Stop comparing

You have to realize what we see in models and things like that are a very small minority of human beings. And also, as has come to light is the fact that they go on very unhealthy diets where they eat very little and it hurts them health wise.

We’re all beautiful, good looking people, and unique in our own way.

Impact that social media/our peers can have on the way we look at ourselves and how not to listen. I was bullied a lot growing up and there wasn’t much content back in middle school to digest on this topic. Looking back, it would’ve been helpful to know I wasn’t alone.

2. Bullied

Realize that the person hurting you is going through their own thing.

Right, and that to find enjoyment in hurting others is sad.

And you should I’m so sorry for you that you need to hurt others to find enjoyment.

Understand you’re not alone. Address that it’s common. Some days we feel better than others.

It’s natural to feel self conscious. I know many people who didn’t go after certain girls because they just thought the girls were out of their league based on body shape.

3. There’s only one YOU. Love yourself for all your perfect imperfections.

Acne, you got freckles, whatever you got. Man, nobody’s perfect.

Just love yourself. And fuck everybody that doesn’t like you. And just be with the people that love you.

I hope this helps, like i said i don’t have any formal training on this subject, so feel free to give me any feedback. These are just my comments having gone from 180 to 160.

4. You CAN change if that would help you but you don’t NEED to, exercise and a focus on nutrition can improve your self body image.
