How do you eliminate anxiety?
The other day, a friend asked me, how do I eliminate anxiety?
For me, I don’t think about eliminating, I think we always will deal with it.
Instead I think it’s about managing it (i.e. creating a good relationship/framework with whatever it is you’re anxious about to have a natural human amount of anxiety but not having an overboard amount)
I look at Michael Jordan, one of the greatest basketball players.
He’s known for taking a lot of last second shots, which was probably nerve racking and created anxiety.
The whole outcome of the game rests in his hands.
One of the quotes he says is: “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”
Among probably several frameworks, that seems to be one of the frameworks he created for it to become easier for him to take the last shot of the game and not be as anxious.
