Every decision you make has an opportunity cost

Every decision you make has an opportunity cost.

For example, by going to school full-time, you forgo the opportunity to make the money that you could’ve made with a full-time job.

And the reverse is true as well: by having a full-time job, you forgo the opportunity to gain the skills and degree a school is offering.

Our society really emphasizes the desire for us to have it all.

But we know that’s impossible based on this knowledge of opportunity cost.

There is no “having it all”.

By choosing one thing, it automatically means you can’t do another, whether you consciously see that or not.

The real key, therefore, is not to desire to have it all, but instead to be happy with the choices you’re making.
