Anytime you receive feedback or advice, remember this

When receiving feedback from others, realize they are often projecting their own fears.

For example, about a year back, a friend of mine joined a running club. I thought he was crazy.

He was saying he wants to get in shape and also be in community with others while doing it so it makes it more fun.

I thought, why do a running club? Why not join an adult sports league or a workout class?

As I later sat back and analyzed the situation — I was answering his question based on what I would do.

If I wanted to get in shape and be in community — I would join an adult sports league or a weekly work out class.

Be careful when receiving feedback.

Is the other person being objective or are they simply answering what they would do if they were asked that question?
